Who are we?

~Kardia Robotics strives to enrich the regular educational experiences that home-schoolers in Berks County who attend Kardia Learning Center, a Christian co-operative group located near Reading PA.
We deliver a purposeful focus on the concepts of science, technology, engineering, and math.  As part of that journey, we have applied the skills and principles we learned to create a functional robot that participates in the FIRST Tech Challenge.

Our History:

Kardia Learning Center is a homeschool co-op group that was established over twenty-years ago.  The goal of Kardia is to provide a cooperative learning community for students and parents.  Kardia students meet weekly for a full day of instruction in history, art, literature, science, music, drama, Latin, writing and composition, physical education, and scripture memory.  Additionally, high school students are also offered course work in Christian Worldview, economics, logic, and comparative government.  The focus on this classical style of education has proven to be successful in educating our students to achieve both academically and socially...

Our Core Values in Depth
Our Philosophy:
First and foremost, our team philosophy is to have fun.  Kardia Robotics was designed to offer something new and provide a unique opportunity for homeschooled students.  Many of our members would not have had the chance to learn about the principles of engineering, design, programming, and marketing if the STEM club did not exist.  Therefore, it was determined that our club must offer students an enjoyable learning experience where they have the opportunity to expand and enrich their understanding of skills and attributes needed to be successful in the 21st Century.

Furthermore, we believe that the 4Cs of modern education are vital attributes that should be developed throughout our Kardia STEM Club experiences.  We recognize how important the effective employment of these will be for future success.  Therefore...

  • We are challenged to become CRITICAL THINKERS and active problem solvers.
  • We are challenged to become CREATIVE INNOVATORS in overcoming obstacles.
  • We are challenged to become EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATORS so that we can successfully present our ideas and make a positive impact and impression with internal and external partners.
  • We are challenged to work as COLLABORATIVE TEAM MEMBERS in all that we do.

Ultimately, however, we recognize that all that we have is a gift from God.  As a result we hope to glorify him through all of our Club activities. In acknowledging His love for us, we have purposely selected a passage from His Word that serves as our team motto and inspiration.  Not only is our selected verse a symbolic expression of the synergistic actions of our robot, but it is a daily reminder to believers of our how our individual blessings, talents, and skills are used by God to successfully impact His will and plan.
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.  1 Corinthians 12:12 NIV
